A great way to help your dog stay for stronger for longer is to exercise them on a moderately unstable surface, like a cushion.

It should be a little unstable, just enough to challenge their muscles without them losing balance.

In todays video Bruce the Neapolitan X Mastiff is going to show you some simple exercises you can do using some cushions (or something similar) to strengthen key stabilising muscles …

… which helps Bruce stay stronger for longer and keep enjoying all of his day to day activities.

Bruce is walking slowly across the cushions which helps him to weight bear more fully on each leg.

So if there is a leg that your dog is weaker on or not weight bearing as fully …

… this is a gentle way you can get them to weight bear more on it and build strength.

You’ll also see Bruce doing some sit to stands, which is a great way to build strength in your dogs back legs and finally he’s doing some turns and pivoting on his left back leg …

… which is the leg we are targeting more to strengthen for Bruce.

Just spending a couple of minutes a day walking your dog slowly across some cushions, foam or something similar …

… can build your dogs strength and help them move better and enjoy their walks and activities more with you.
